Students enjoyed META's first pilot and affirmed one of its career focused graduate aims.

"My ideal school would help students on their career path by opening up opportunities for the students to begin learning about their desired topic in high school."

"It would educate us on current issues and not being afraid to address them"

META Pilot 1 Summary

Meta conducted a pilot in early November to test one of its graduate aims, "alumni have a career aligned to both their skills and passions with an orientation for equity and justice." The graduate aim was split into its two key components: 1) having a career that aligned to students' skills and passions, and 2) having a career that allowed students to work towards equity and justice for their communities. These two options were included in a bunch that included more traditional school graduate aims. 83% of participating students ranked these two elements of career planning as "important" or "very important" for their school to focus on. 66% of students ranked at least one of these two elements as the most important priorities a school should focus on, over preparing them for top tier colleges, getting a high GPA or ACT/SAT score, and getting them into college.
